FT Belknap Tribal Letter of Intent
A Foundation for Resilience
This Letter of Intent serves as a formal declaration of my commitment to the future of the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation and the White Clay/Nakoda People. As we stand at a crossroads of economic and environmental change, the need for sovereign food systems and rigorous trust land oversight has never been more critical.
I am currently developing a comprehensive framework designed to secure our ranch lands and establish a sustainable, community-driven food infrastructure. This initiative—anchored by the Sovereign Food Program—aims to eliminate dependency on outside supply chains while honoring the ancestral integrity of our territory.
While this project is in its initial planning and proposal phase, the vision is clear: to build a legacy of resilience that protects our resources for generations to come. I invite our tribal leadership and community members to view this not just as a proposal, but as a proactive step toward true self-determination. The full prospectus and operational plans will be presented to the Tribal Council and President Werk as the infrastructure matures.
